They say to

                        “write what

                         you know”.

Please note that I am not aware of who “they” is, but “they” are wise.

When I was a little girl, mind-boggling circumstances would always seem to happen to me - like the time I was sitting in my backyard and suddenly got hit in the eyeball with a golfball from the sky (I did NOT live near a golf course) OR the time I learned what cancer was and walked door to door crying, trying to raise money for a cure for cancer.

Through all of this, I realized my life and my personality had an entertainment quality. So, I started to spread the truth when I retold these stories. I would mentally rewrite the dialogue to make it funnier, I’d dramatize my response, I’d make up a few side characters to enhance the story, and I’d always wrap it up with a good punchline. I’d have everyone falling over laughing, ready for me to sign an autograph, when - RUINING EVERYTHING - my mom would say something like “Well…that’s not really what happened. They didn’t say it like that!”

Since then, I have successfully proved that my imaginative mind will serve my future well, no matter if I'm performing in a play, writing a thrilling film, or managing a team of designers.

MY PASSIONS

WOMANHOOD & GIRLHOOD

Growing up as an only child, I experienced girlhood mainly on my own. As a little girl, my mind was consistently full of stories and feelings, and once I was old enough to write, all of my girly, feminine experiences were transferred to paper.

MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS

I have always been passionate about how powerful the mind is. Personally, I have lived with mental illness for as long as I can remember. I say "live" rather than "struggle", because my mind has made me who I am. I enjoy sharing the "life" side of mental illness.

PROTECTING CHILDREN IN THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY

I spent my childhood and adolescence in the theater, and now I spend the majority of my time on film sets with learning producers and directors. Throughout my experiences, both frontstage and backstage, I noticed a consistent lack of education on how to treat children within the industry. I believe proper treatment starts in development with the script. I aim to always keep children physically and mentally safe in anything I do.

PHRASES

My experience in the childcare industry helped me tremendously with my communication skills. I have adopted numerous phrases from childcare that I realize work great in the "real world" as well!
