WRITING WHAT I KNOW
As a screenwriter, my scripts for both film and television focus on stories of womanhood and mental health. I enjoy pulling at the heartstrings tied to these topics, but in unconventional ways, with complex characters. I also can't help that I'm a jokester, so my scripts always have laughable characters and situations.

The doorbell rings and all of the voices and sounds simultaneously cut off. Carter, confused but comfortable, gets out of the bed and walks towards the door.
The family sits at the kitchen table. Chrysanthemum’s mother places a plate full of Mac and cheese in front of her. She squirts ketchup onto the Mac and cheese and spells out “CHRYSANTHEMUM”. She has to write it in two layers so that the letters fit. Chrysanthemum sniffles and smiles.
